Miller’s Halloween Rhymes

Burn the bones of slaughtered cattle,

Watch the fires burn and crackle,

Halloween Comes, now children fear!

The emergence of, the spirits here!

Take one bag, and be not greedy

Leave some left, for children needy

For if you take more than your share

Ghouls will eat your teeth and hair.

You have taken two, now be afeared!

The ghouls now know you, and soon draw near!

You have taken one tribute,

The ghosts are appeased,

Now leave this place.

And leave me be!
